Canadian Dental Care Plan
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) at Dr. Vrbensky & Dr. Kapoor Dentistry
At Dr. Vrbensky & Dr. Kapoor Dentistry, we’re committed to making dental care accessible for all our patients. The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal initiative aimed at reducing financial barriers and improving access to essential oral health services.
This program is available to eligible Canadian residents who do not have private dental insurance and have a household income under $90,000 per year. While the CDCP helps cover many routine and necessary dental treatments, it is not a completely free service—it covers a portion of treatment costs.

What Treatments Are Covered?
Depending on your eligibility and treatment needs, the CDCP may help cover:
- Preventive Care: Cleanings (scaling), fluoride treatments, sealants
- Diagnostic Services: Exams and dental x-rays
- Restorative Work: Fillings
- Endodontic Services: Root canal treatments
- Prosthodontic Services: Partial and complete dentures (removable)
- Periodontal Treatments: Deep cleaning for gum disease
- Oral Surgery: Extractions and minor oral surgeries
Please note: Not all services are covered in full. Coverage limits and frequency rules may apply. Details are available through the official CDCP Guide.
Common Questions
How do I know if I qualify for CDCP?
We do not manage eligibility or enrollment. To find out if you qualify, please contact:
1-833-537-4342 (TTY: 1-833-677-6262)
Or visit your nearest Service Canada location.
Will I need to pay anything at my appointment?
Yes. Even if your CDCP coverage is listed at “100%,” it refers to the CDCP fee guide, which differs from the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) fee guide used by our office.
Patients are responsible for paying any difference between the two at the time of treatment.
Please note: We cannot offer refunds for changes in government coverage retroactively.
Can you give me a cost estimate before treatment?
We will make every effort to submit a pre-determination to Sun Life (the CDCP plan administrator) to confirm your coverage. For urgent procedures, like a broken tooth, treatment may proceed before approval, and any non-covered costs will be the patient’s responsibility.
